ABOUT

Why I Started Rise + Align Therapy

I founded Rise + Align Therapy because I know firsthand how exhausting it can be to carry the weight of others’ expectations + lose touch with who you truly are. As a highly sensitive, empathetic person myself, I spent years struggling to balance caring for others with taking care of my own needs. I often felt stretched thin, held back by self-doubt + at times, I was afraid to fully take up space.

But everything changed for me a few years ago (in my early 30s) when my husband unexpectedly passed away. I was suddenly faced with the reality of life’s unpredictability + brevity. After Murphy’s death, I realized that for too long, I had prioritized others over myself, often playing it safe + struggling to find my own voice. I knew that I couldn’t keep living for everyone else - I deserved a life that felt authentic, purposeful + true to who I really was.

Through my own personal journey of loss + rebuilding, I came to realize that being deeply empathetic + intuitive didn’t mean I had to sacrifice myself, my dreams, or my self-worth. I began to reclaim my confidence, set boundaries that protected my peace + reconnect with my own individual values. This transformation ignited my passion to help other women like me, who were ready to stop being defined by others' needs + expectations + start living life on their own terms.

Rise + Align Therapy was born from this urgency to live fully + authentically. My mission is simple yet profound: to create a safe, compassionate space where sensitive, empathetic women can finally put themselves (+ their needs) first, feel comfortable using their voice + reclaim a life of purpose + confidence. I strongly believe that when you rise up + embrace who you are, you can then create a life that feels fulfilling, balanced + entirely yours.

Whether you’re looking to set healthy boundaries, overcome self-doubt, or find peace from the pressures surrounding you, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Starting this practice is my way of giving back + helping others who have walked a similar path. I can help you rise, align + create the life you deserve, at last.

Let’s begin this journey together.

My Professional Background & Approach

With over 10 years of experience as a licensed therapist, I bring a wealth of knowledge + compassion to each session. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with diverse populations in a wide range of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient treatment centers + community mental health. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges people face across various stages of life, from managing daily stressors to navigating severe trauma + life’s most challenging transitions.

My therapeutic approach is integrative + client-centered, drawing from a selection of evidence-based modalities to provide the best fit for each person’s needs. I use:

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): To help you clarify goals, build on strengths + focus on creating practical steps forward

  • Acceptance + Commitment Therapy (ACT): To guide you in accepting challenging emotions + thoughts while committing to meaningful actions aligned with your values

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): To help you manage intense emotions, improve relationships + develop effective coping skills

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To address unhelpful thought patterns, shift perspectives + create healthier responses to stressors

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): To cultivate self-compassion, reduce self-criticism + build a stronger sense of inner support

  • Eye Movement Desensitization + Reprocessing (EMDR): To support healing from trauma by processing painful memories in a safe, structured way

What I appreciate most about therapy is the opportunity to see people discover new sides of themselves + grow in ways they hadn’t thought possible. I really love those moments when someone realizes they can stand up for themselves, find a little more peace, or break a pattern that’s held them back.

To me, therapy should be a unique space where people feel safe enough to be real, vulnerable + honest + I feel lucky to help guide that process. I find it incredibly fulfilling to see clients build confidence, embrace who they are + create lives that genuinely feel better + more balanced.
