Q: “What issues do you specialize in?” A: I specialize in working with empathetic, sensitive women facing challenges such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, anxiety, trauma, grief, isolation + navigating major life transitions. My goal is to provide you with a safe, supportive space where you can build resilience, confidence + a life that feels true to who you really are.
Q: “What can I expect during our sessions?” A: Sessions are client-centered + tailored to your individual needs. We’ll work together on setting treatment goals that are meaningful to you + I’ll provide you with the tools + support to help you make progress at your own pace. You can expect a compassionate, non-judgmental space where your voice + experiences are valued.
Q: “How often will we meet + how long is each session?” A: Sessions are typically 55 minutes long. Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum + consistency in their journey, then may later transition to biweekly or monthly sessions as they feel more confident + stable.
Q: “Do you take insurance?” A: I am a self-pay only practitioner, which means that I am not in-network with any insurance providers. This allows us to work together without the need for a diagnosis or any restrictions on session length or frequency - keeping the focus entirely on what’s best for you + your care. However, I do accept most major credit + debit cards, as well as HSA + FSA funds. Additionally, I can provide you with a superbill (at your request) so that you can submit it to your insurance plan on your own for potential reimbursement.
Q: “What is a superbill, and how does it work?” A: A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Although I can’t guarantee you any reimbursement, many clients find success in submitting superbills to their insurance companies. Please contact your insurance provider directly to verify your out-of-network mental health benefits.
Q: “How do I pay for sessions?” A: I accept most major credit + debit cards, as well as HSA + FSA cards. You will be required to keep an updated credit or debit card on file for the duration of your treatment + payment will be collected at the beginning of each session.
Q: “What therapy approaches do you use?” A: I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance + Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) + Eye Movement Desensitization + Reprocessing (EMDR). My approach is always personalized, combining tools + techniques that best meet your specific needs + goals.
Q: “Is therapy confidential?” A: Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic process. Our sessions + any information you share are private + will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in rare situations where I am legally required to do so (e.g., if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, etc.). I am committed to providing a safe, trustworthy environment where you can feel comfortable + supported.
Q: “Do you offer in-person sessions?” A: Currently, I provide therapy exclusively through virtual sessions on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. This allows us to work together from the comfort of your own space, offering flexibility + privacy. Virtual sessions provide the same level of care, support + confidentiality as in-person therapy + can be accessed from any location within the states I am licensed in (HI, KS, or MO).
Q: “Is virtual therapy effective?” A: Yes, virtual therapy is highly effective for most clients. Many people find virtual sessions convenient + comfortable, allowing for easier scheduling + access without the need to travel. My approach is fully adaptable to the online format, ensuring you receive the same personalized, compassionate support you would expect in person.
Q: “What equipment do I need for virtual sessions?” A: To participate in virtual therapy, you’ll need a device with a camera + microphone, as well as a stable internet connection. Sessions are conducted on a HIPAA-compliant platform, ensuring your privacy + security at all times. You can join sessions from a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Q: “What should I do if I’m unsure whether therapy is right for me?” A: If you’re feeling uncertain about starting therapy, that’s completely normal. I offer a free 15-minute consultation call where we can discuss your needs + answer any questions you have. This session can help you determine if therapy + my approach feel like a good fit for you. There’s no obligation + it’s simply an opportunity for us to connect.
Q: “What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?” A: I understand that things come up + life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let me know at least 48 hours before your appointment time in order to avoid a late cancellation fee. This allows me a chance to offer your time slot to someone else who may need support.
Q: “I’m interested! How can I get started?” A: Starting is easy! You can book your free 15-minute consultation call through my Calendly link on this website. During our initial conversation, we’ll discuss your goals, any questions you may have + explore how therapy can support you in achieving those goals.
